Description:
CBS produced a television series called Black Bart, based on Andrew Bergman's original story that was originally titled "Black Bart" for the movie. Lou Gossett, Jr. played Bart, with Steve Landesberg as his alcoholic sidekick, a former Confederate officer named Reb Jordan. The humor was less intense than in the movie. Millie Slavin and Noble Willingham also appeared. Bergman is credited as the sole creator. The pilot aired as a CBS Special Presentation on April 4, 1975, and featured guest stars Gerrit Graham and Brooke Adams. It was written by Michael Elias and Rich Eustis, who later created and executive produced the ABC sitcom "Head of the Class" (1986-1991).
