Description:
The nuclear-powered submarine Yamato, carrying Mozart's music, descends into the frigid northern seas after overwhelming the U.S. Seventh Fleet in Tokyo Bay and heading for New York. As it nears the Bering Strait, the border between the U.S. and Russia, a more advanced U.S. submarine appears, dispatched by President Bennett with the order to destroy Yamato, labeled a nuclear terrorist. Simultaneously, a Japanese general election is underway to dissolve the House of Representatives. Prime Minister Takegami declares his support for Yamato, linking their destinies. Will Shiro Kaieda succeed in navigating the perilous voyage? The film opens under the aurora borealis, in the Arctic Ocean amidst ice floes, setting the stage for a decisive battle.
