A police interrogation unfolds, a constant exchange of questions and answers, relentlessly building towards the establishment of guilt. The scene is underscored by a pulsing techno soundtrack. Ignas Krunglevicius' video installation uses actual police records: Detective Robert John questions Mary Kovik, accused of murdering her husband with his own shotgun. In the video, the speakers are unseen and unheard, their words appearing only as text on the screen, like an autocue. Krunglevicius – who is also a composer and musician – highlights the power of language and the ways manipulation and coercion work. He also examines how imagination is key to developing empathy.
