In the 1990s, thirteen-year-old best friends Emilia and Mateo, both feeling like outsiders, find comfort in each other and their shared passion for the Spice Girls. Facing bullying at school, Emilia is empowered by the group's message of female strength. When they discover a video dance contest with a prize of tickets to a Miami concert, they see it as an opportunity to meet their heroes. As they practice, they confront self-doubt and opposition, but stay focused on their goal. Their path is challenging, yet they keep going.
