The Owl, The Travellers, and The Cement Drain (2024)

This two-channel video combines footage gathered over many years: scenes from the artist's forest visits, captured from his 26th-floor apartment using a zoom lens, and from motion-capture and thermal cameras he placed in the woods. This secondary forest is a space where nature and human constructions blend, where introduced and native species live together, and where history overlaps with the present. Abandoned tents rest beneath the trees, and wildlife rests on discarded objects. Remnants of military sites from different eras, alongside items left by migrant workers, are scattered throughout the forest. Overlaying this landscape is a story of two travelers who discuss what they observe in the forest and what the forest witnesses.
