Zlatá brána (2004)

The Golden Gate is both a familiar children’s rhyme and a historical image of the Last Judgment, depicting souls being chosen between good and evil before entering another world. This film uses that idea to tell a modern story about an unusual romance. Eva Štanglová is a university professor recently abandoned by her husband, who has moved in with another woman. Feeling betrayed and isolated, she finds a kindred spirit in a lonely Moldovan worker building scaffolding outside her window.
