Description:
Over several years, David Vondráček's documentary follows Jan and Jana, a homeless couple who find shelter in a cemetery in Prague. They survive by scavenging food and trading items found there, maintaining independence, love, and humor. Jana, a former prostitute, attempts to reconnect with her daughter, while Jan visits his elderly mother after a long absence, but both struggles to rebuild those relationships. By focusing on their daily lives, Vondráček reveals the humanity and complexity of their world, which shares similarities with those who appear successful. Ultimately, they are forced to leave their temporary home, with devastating results. The award-winning film highlights the resilience and vibrancy of life for those living on the margins.
