The Men Who Became Legends (2012)

Yasu (Matoba Koji) is a private detective who enjoys fishing. His childhood friend and business partner, Kenju (Osawa Mikio), owns a bar for those desperate for help. Their newest client is Daisuke, an old classmate who, despite marrying into wealth, is treated as a servant. His wife, now involved with a yakuza, tasks him with finding a lost family heirloom: the "Bodhisattva statue." As Yasu and Kenju search for it, they discover the statue holds a dangerous secret that could destabilize the country. This chaotic black comedy features clashes between yakuza, politicians, loan sharks, and a Korean spy agency, each pursuing their own goals.
