Vienna, 1913. Hugo, a young man from a privileged Viennese family, seeks an analysis from Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. He confesses to experiencing an instinctive aversion and hatred towards Jewish people. Freud agrees to treat him. Hugo befriends Adolf, a struggling artist consumed by vegetarianism and German nationalism. Filmed in present-day New York City, especially in the Bronx, V13 explores the beginnings of Nazi ideology. Alan Cumming delivers a remarkable performance as Sigmund Freud. The screenplay adapts a play by Alain Didier-Weill, who previously collaborated with the director on THE CALLER (2008), a project that won the Made in New York Prize at the Tribeca Film Festival.
