Dark Heart (2009)

Daniel Saxon is an aspiring writer living a desolate life that reflects the dark themes in his work. Struggling financially and isolated, he tries to finish his novel and confront his past. As he writes, unsettling memories haunt him – nightmares of figures from his childhood and a persistent heartbeat disrupting his relationship with Lauren. These disturbing visions begin to bleed into reality. His estranged, senile father unexpectedly reappears, and it becomes clear that the father's hidden history is connected to Daniel’s inner turmoil. Daniel’s life unravels as he cares for his father, leading him down a dangerous path of madness, hatred, writer's block, and ultimately, murder.
