Sentenced to Life (2003)

This documentary chronicles the life of Diane Charron, who began serving a life sentence in 1981 at the age of 19 after stabbing a stranger during a friend's revenge plot. The film presents Diane's story through interviews with her, as well as corrections officers, prison caseworkers, and psychiatrists, many of whom express sympathy for the troubled woman, whose early life was marred by abuse. *Sentenced to Life* explores challenging questions surrounding incarcerated individuals with mental health issues.
