Soul Comes Home (2004)

This DVD preserves the historic concert from April 30, 2003, celebrating the opening of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis, TN. Featuring performances by soul music's leading artists, the concert originally aired as a PBS special in August and is now available on DVD. The Stax Museum sits on the original site of the Stax Records studios and honors the legacy of 1960s and '70s soul music. Adjacent to the museum, the Stax Music Academy offers free music education to young people facing challenges. Proceeds from the CD and DVD sales support the Stax Museum. The DVD includes all 16 performances from the PBS special, plus a bonus track with the Bar-Kays and Chuck D performing "Soul Finger."
