Doctor Who exhibitions first emerged in 1965, with displays featuring Daleks and props from "Doctor Who and the Daleks" appearing in UK department stores. Since then, numerous exhibitions – official and unofficial, temporary and permanent, large and small – have taken place, showcasing the enduring popularity of Doctor Who beyond the television. These events have been, and in some instances continue to be, spectacular celebrations of the series.
