The Long Green Line (2008)

For 50 years, Coach Joe Newton has used cross country running to impart essential life lessons to high school boys. His guiding principles – "Always do your best," "be on time," and "it's nice to be great but far greater to be nice" – have transformed the York High School boys cross country team in Elmhurst, Illinois, into the most successful high school team in the nation. Beyond athletic achievement, Newton shapes young men who carry his values with them throughout their lives. *The Long Green Line* follows the York Dukes during their 2005 cross country season as they strive for their 25th state title in 50 years.
