Hana (2003)

Yoichiro Nozaki, a successful office worker, suffers a sudden aneurysm. Doctors recommend urgent surgery, but warn of potential memory loss, even if the operation is successful. Nozaki, feeling lost, quits his job and leaves the surgery consent form unsigned. He becomes withdrawn and depressed. Hoping for a fresh start, he embarks on a trip. He meets Torigoe at their planned meeting place the day before leaving. Torigoe suggests a slower route to Kagoshima via National Routes. The story follows these two men as they travel, both struggling with feelings of loss.
