Description:
In 1950, a passenger train strikes a man who is identified as Władysław Orzechowski, a veteran train engineer known for his traditional methods and serious personality. An inquiry panel investigates why someone like Orzechowski would have jumped in front of the train. As they question those involved, each offers their own account of the events. Can the panel uncover the truth in a society where workers are uniting, poor quality coal is seen as a sign of pride, and the established order is being questioned?
