Thrift Store Video #3 (2003)

For several years, I've been creating the "Thrift Store Tape" videos, piecing together fragments of strangers' lives from discarded home movies. These tapes hold forgotten memories of people I'll likely never meet, whose recordings have been lost or forgotten by the individuals who made them. Trying to understand these people is impossible; they exist only as they appeared on film at a specific moment in time. The weddings, graduations, birthdays, and everyday moments captured are presented with a fractured, dreamlike logic. I begin with this meandering, seemingly random material.
