One Star (2000)

While looking through an old photo album, I discovered a faded picture of my family at a meal. I don't know who took it. Everyone in the photo except my brother is gone now. The house is gone too, replaced by a road. It’s as if nothing changed. We were watching fireworks, cheering and gazing at the night sky, surprised and happy in each moment, feeling alive under the stars. Then the final fireworks exploded, and the sparks fell like tears. In that instant, we felt born, lived, faded, and vanished. The cheers echo on, the voices of our souls, forever present in this image. It’s as if nothing happened, even though we are no longer here.
