The Little Pageant That Could (2024)

This documentary follows the story of L.A.'s "Best in Drag Show" as it raises money for the Alliance for Housing and Healing. What began as a spontaneous, humorous response to the Miss America pageant in a small West Hollywood apartment in 1990 evolved into L.A.'s longest-running drag benefit. The show has featured famous actors, draws massive crowds, and has raised over $6 million to support people living with HIV/AIDS. Director John Carlos Frey uses humor and heartfelt moments to explore queer life and activism from the 1990s to the present day.
