The story begins with a dream: a summons to unravel mysteries. The dream instructs me to find a griot who will lead me to a specific person. Upon recognition, I must circle them three times, rub them with buttermilk, and state my purpose – but not forgetting the buttermilk. This is how I become connected to the spirit of the baobab tree. It's the year 2000, the year of the "Sopi." As the baobab is Senegal's symbol, I believe understanding the tree will reveal the heart of the country itself.
