Village Keeper (2024)

Jean is the primary caregiver for her two teenage children, Tamika and Tristin, and reluctantly shares a cramped apartment with her mother in Lawrence Heights. As her children strive for independence, Jean's own past prevents her from fully recognizing their growth. Haunted by violence from both their history and their present, she must guide them through these difficult experiences. Through skillful use of sound and flashbacks, the film portrays the enduring struggles faced by women in Jean’s family.
