Stairway to Power: The Road to Prime Minister (2020)

Magazine journalist Renji Himura is investigating corruption in Japanese politics, exposing several scandals in his effort to reform the system. His strained relationship with his father, Tetsuya Himura, a member of parliament for the ruling Republican Party, fuels Renji's distrust of political power. Tetsuya is part of the Teikankai faction, alongside Yuichi Tanigawa, but both become disillusioned with the tactics of faction leader and former Prime Minister Shiro Oda. To regain power, Oda has installed the current Prime Minister, Kojiro Suzuki, and is establishing a government controlled by him. Renji then receives an anonymous tip.
