Reception! features acclaimed actress Guslagie Malanda as Reception, one of the final human translators on Earth. Following a storage crisis that has wiped digital memories from personal devices, Reception works in a repurposed parliament building now used as a data center. She receives a transmission of a woman’s deeply personal memory. The woman speaks in Irish Gaelic, and Reception translates her experience into French, dictating to a machine that records it as history in English. As Reception receives and processes the woman's memory, her own begins to unravel and manifest within the showspace. In a visual sequence, the memory transfers to Reception’s personal storage devices, highlighting the connection between our memories and the objects we carry.
