Father, Son and Holy Theatre (2010)

Alar Sudak, known as Elaan, embodies the tragic figure of Don Quixote within Estonian theatre – destined for a solitary existence. His lifelong ambition to become a recognized actor has repeatedly been thwarted by failures in drama school entrance exams. This documentary explores his life through the lens of Old Testament narratives: encompassing a sympathetic portrayal of Satan, conflicts over water, a persistent passion for theatre, legal pursuits, enduring cycles of community revenge across generations and political shifts. Elaan's life is so steeped in drama that he finds himself unable to escape it, as his artistic spirit is inextricably linked to it.
