Description:
Victor Kossakovsky obsessively sought out people in St. Petersburg born on July 19, 1961 – his own birthday – in old Leningrad. He found fifty-one women and fifty men who matched the criteria. Over time, some of these 101 individuals passed away, relocated, or emigrated. However, in 1995, Kossakovsky filmed all seventy remaining residents, capturing them in various settings: on the street, at work, and at home. He spent time with a diverse group, including doctors, patients, performers, businesspeople, construction workers, and the homeless. Through his unique approach, Kossakovsky created a compelling portrait of people in their thirties living in St. Petersburg.
