God’s Stone Quarry (One Year In North Bohemia) (2005)

Like Rychlík's earlier film, *One Year*, *God's Stone Quarry* explores the lives of people deeply rooted in the Horňácko region, a borderland between Moravia and Slovakia. While the Carpathian highlanders' way of life, culture, and economy seem worlds apart from those in Northern Bohemia, the longing for happiness remains universal, even in a seemingly forgotten area. The film follows a journey to find contentment in a place that appears to have been left behind.
