Description:
In the early 1900s, Guido Guidi, an Italian actor known more for enthusiasm than skill, joins a troupe on tour in Texas. They are approached by the enigmatic and wealthy Peppino Garibaldi with an irresistible offer: a large sum of money to perform "Richard III" in Vera Cruz, Mexico. However, Peppino's motives are political. He is aiding "La Revolución" and General Carasco, who plans to use the play's premiere as a cover for a raid on Vera Cruz in support of Comandante Zapata. The Mexican Army soon arrives to quell the uprising. Guido and Padre Albino escape, inadvertently saving Carasco from execution. As Carasco continues his revolutionary fight, Guido and Albino embark on a perilous journey through Mexico, repeatedly encountering Carasco, Herrera, and dangerous bandits.
