A Collection of Chemicals (2009)

Si Foster, a recently widowed man with a passion for eggplants, is deeply lonely. His daughter Sonya was kidnapped two years ago, and the ransom money was never delivered. As the Fourth of July nears, Si finally contacts the kidnappers and pays the ransom, leading to Sonya's return. However, Sonya has embraced her captors as her family. Clueless and awkward, Si struggles to reconnect with his daughter, while Sonya subtly tries to uncover the truth about why she was left for so long, using unusual items she brought back with her.
