Two people were kidnapped. One man lost his penis. No money was taken. This heist went horribly wrong, prompting a Newport Beach detective to launch an international manhunt for a particularly cruel criminal. In 2012, Michael, a local marijuana dispensary owner, returned home from work one evening and relaxed on his couch. Three hours later, he was bound and forced to eat dirt as three men attempted to make him reveal the location of a hidden million dollars. He would have readily told them, but he hadn't buried any money. After they tortured him and left him for dead, he remained ignorant of his captors' identities.
