Songs of Kamui (2023)

Teru is a gifted young woman who deeply desires to study alongside other girls. However, in early 20th-century Japan, she faces exclusion due to her Ainu heritage. The Ainu people, the indigenous inhabitants of Hokkaido, preserve their culture through oral poems called yukar. When Teru encounters a Tokyo professor dedicated to deciphering yukar, she finds an opportunity to demonstrate her intelligence and potentially change the future for the Ainu.
