Monk Beopjeong, Meet Him in The Mountains (2003)

For three years, from April 30, 2001, until 2003, KBS reporters documented the life of Beopjeong, a reclusive monk known for his detachment from worldly possessions. Beopjeong had previously avoided media attention. After six months of silent observation, he uttered his first words to the cameras: "Let's support the cows." This encounter and subsequent conversations were filmed, capturing the monk’s serene wisdom amidst the bamboo forests of Bulilam Hermitage and the changing seasons. The film also features footage of Beopjeong delivering an anti-war message at Ground Zero in the United States, stating, "Hate only blinds the eyes."
