Over 300 years ago, a religious reform in Russia led to centuries of persecution for those who refused to accept it. Known as Old Believers, these people escaped destruction by fleeing to the edges of the country. Some settled on the west bank of Peipus, living alongside the Estonians and enduring the hardships of the region while fiercely protecting their faith, unique culture, and traditional way of life. For three centuries, they have prepared for the end of the world, living each day as if it could be their last.
