Ya Rayah (2001)

ALIS, a playfully quirky collective founded by Dominique Soria and Pierre Fourny, assembles a diverse collection of objects and images – smoking shoes, unusual typography, foot x-rays, and more. This arrangement creates a whimsical exploration of the writing process, reflecting the poetic approach favored by ALIS, who draw inspiration from the Oulipo movement. Their unconventional method seeks new forms of expression through various art forms, typically presented in theatrical performances or galleries. Following their previous work, this film, set to music by Dahmane el Harrachi, further explores their inventive and meticulously crafted use of language.
