Longing for Light (2023)

This film explores Barcelona through light, focusing on the city's streets and the people who make up my chosen family. The sun illuminates what's visible while leaving other things in shadow, contrasting with the city’s constructed environment – all captured through my filmmaker’s perspective. As a lesbian from a small town in Lleida, I've lived in Barcelona for 13 years, and this film follows a journey from the personal spaces of friends and lovers to the bustling streets of the Raval district, and finally to the sunset over Montjuïc. It’s a look at the city's urban nature, its lights and shadows, and the way its people navigate existence.
