Dust (2023)

The process of clearing out a home after someone's passing is an act of love, remembrance, and grief. Following July’s recent death, the film explores her apartment, focusing on objects that offer glimpses into her life. Voices of those who knew her guide us as they grapple with saying goodbye. Their memories reveal the complexities of embracing one's identity as a trans woman, as some still remember July as Julio. Throughout the film, July’s personality emerges through her belongings: photographs, wigs, clothes, music. A biography unfolds, mirroring the history of an entire community, much like a mirror reflecting the past.
