Blueprint (2024)

Cass, an aspiring screenwriter, reflects on her breakup with Ezra, revisiting their relationship's highs and lows. Her internal thoughts reveal her feeling that the relationship ended because it became predictable and stifled her creativity. She admits she craved intense emotion, even expressing a desire for physical pain. Meanwhile, Ezra leaves a voicemail for Cass, revealing his frustration with her need to constantly seek inspiration in his life. He questions the authenticity of their connection and wishes they had never met, asking her to write about her own experiences and leave him alone. Neither character hears the other's message, highlighting the fundamental incompatibility between Cass’s tendency to turn life into stories and Ezra’s resistance to being a subject in them. The film presents a complicated portrayal of this disconnect.
