Description:

In 1986, amidst a student protest against mandatory military service, twenty-year-old Kim Se-jin and Lee Jae-ho set themselves on fire. They chanted slogans calling for peace, an end to nuclear weapons, the withdrawal of U.S. forces, and the expulsion of American influence. The demonstration, involving around four hundred students at a crossroads near Seoul National University, and the shocking nature of their deaths and overtly anti-American message, deeply impacted South Korea. Two decades later, the world has changed.
