Brother 2 Brother (2004)

This documentary follows Corey Lucas, a 21-year-old African Canadian, as he struggles to balance his desire for financial success with his responsibilities as a father and partner. Growing up in Jellybean Square, a housing project in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Corey's aspirations – a nice car, a big house, a good job – seemed unattainable. Faced with limited options, he began selling drugs. The film centers on a weekend retreat for young Black men, created by BROS (Brothers Reaching Out Society) and director Russell Wyse. Wyse believes that with determination, opportunity, and community support, young Black men can overcome adversity and achieve their goals.
