The Third End of the Stick (2023)

This documentary explores the experience of Roma people living within a marginalized community. It examines what it means to be different when your community is already excluded. The film follows several individuals: Roma gay men and transgender people seeking acceptance and opportunities abroad; a father with a disability hoping for mobility; a grandmother devoted to her grandson's well-being; and a man striving to overcome his son’s struggles with alcohol through faith. Through these stories from Slovakia’s poorest Roma settlements, the film seeks to challenge prejudices between the Roma community and the wider population.
