Description:
In January and February 1946, a special military unit led by Lieutenant Rajs, known as "Bury," subdued five villages, resulting in the deaths of 80 people. All the victims were Orthodox Belarusians, including 28 carters who had been abducted to transport the unit near the Białowieża Forest. After completing their task, the carters were executed and buried in a mass grave. It wasn't until 50 years later that the victims' families learned what happened. A committee of family members organized an exhumation, which was attended by both Belarusians and Poles who showed support for the families during the religious ceremonies.
