Sacrifice (2023)

For years, our country's southeastern border has seen ongoing conflict between security forces and separatist terrorists. İbrahim’s son İsmail, in his late forties, is nearing the end of his mandatory military service in the area – just 20 days remain. İbrahim, an asthmatic, lives with İsmail in a crumbling village house. He's struggling to protect his chickens, his sole source of income, from predators, while also trying to save enough money for his father’s medical treatment. Financial hardship has strained his marriage and left him unable to afford even a school notebook for his daughter.
