Description:

Vignettes of the New England Steam showcases the work of rail photographers Albert Michaud and William P. Price, documenting the steam locomotives (and some diesel engines) of the Grand Trunk, Central Vermont, Boston & Maine, and New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroads. The mostly color, mostly 16mm film begins in New Hampshire with the Grand Trunk, then travels to the Central Vermont area near White River Junction, and the Boston & Maine and New Haven lines, mainly around Boston. The film features many different locomotive types, as well as the passenger and freight cars of the period, including distinctive wooden maroon passenger cars on the B&M. Join Clear Block Productions as they take us back to the late 1940s and early 1950s to witness the final days of steam power in the Northeast, in Vignettes of the New England Steam.
