Description:
In autumn 2000, in northeastern Yakutia near the Kolyma River, a Chukchi family struggles to balance traditional nomadic life with modern times. The film follows this group of reindeer herders as they seek an independent way to live. We see them in three locations: the tundra, where some members manage a herd of 2,000 reindeer, maintaining a nomadic lifestyle and traditional herding practices; the riverbank, where others fish; and a southern location where the family has established a permanent home. Here, Egor and Akoulina aim to preserve their cultural heritage for future generations.
