A Road to a Village (2024)

In the eastern Nepalese mountains, Maila, a basket weaver, his wife Maile, and their seven-year-old son Bindray enjoy a peaceful village life. The construction of a road to their village is welcomed as progress. However, with the arrival of the first bus come new things: soda, television, and hip hop music. As modern conveniences enter their world, Maila's life becomes increasingly complicated. He struggles to balance upholding traditional ways with the need to provide for his family. Bindray embraces the opportunities the road presents. Maila and Maile must find a way to navigate a changing world that threatens to leave them behind.
