Description:
BEK is the story of a girl born with wings instead of arms and a beak instead of a mouth. Unlike a bird, she can't fly. Rejected by her father, she's forced to leave home and joins a circus as a sideshow attraction. She finds a home with a kind, though often drunk, clown who becomes her adoptive father. As years pass, she yearns for a normal life as a human, but feels unwelcome outside the circus. She escapes into elaborate daydreams of a life far away from the big top. The film concludes with her disappearing into a dream, leaving the audience to question whether she ever truly existed – a girl with wings and a beak.
