The Star and the Sea (2009)

The film depicts the poignant early life of Xian Xinghai, the celebrated Chinese composer. Set in a poor fishing village in Macau at the beginning of the 20th century, it follows his mother's loving efforts to raise him through difficult times. It’s also a hopeful story of young Xinghai's journey to achieve success, from discovering his musical gift in humble surroundings to developing his talent in Singapore.
