Stereomongrel (2004)

Stereomongrel is a twelve-minute experimental film about the impact of two very different worlds meeting. A talented twelve-year-old girl observes as high and low culture collide within the quiet setting of a museum. Shot in Super 35mm, the film's style is "hyper, supra, and marvelous real," achieved through 3-D animation, stop-motion, and carefully staged scenes. It blends and transforms genres like psychological/supernatural thrillers, Italian horror from the 70s and 80s, and the aspirational imagery of hip-hop music videos and fashion magazines.
