Arigato, Monster (2022)

Mushitaro lives a life devoid of hope, haunted by the voices of suffering people that have numbed his emotions. Johnny exploits Mushitaro's vulnerability, manipulating him with logic for his own gain. They work as garbage collectors and are struggling actors in a small Osaka theater, their performances lacking talent and effort. Sharing an old house, they barely get by. After repeatedly failing to impress with Johnny’s self-serving acting methods, they are fired from the theater. Johnny refuses to accept this, convinced he is always right. He then encounters "Joker," a manifestation of hatred, who influences him to transform both himself and Mushitaro into monsters. Driven by revenge against the theater and society, the reckless pair unleash unforeseen chaos.
