Gyarakal (2004)

Balohari Majumdar in Bhowanipore dreams of his daughter becoming a famous singer. When Disha and her teacher Tablu perform a song together, they develop feelings for each other. Balohari disapproves, leading to Tablu leaving and losing his job. Angered, Balohari declares he wants a married music teacher and his wife. Meanwhile, Pradip, a local singer seeking work, attends a function in Ranaghat and meets Sikha. Sikha desperately needs 30,000 rupees to pay off a debt incurred by her brother to Chanu Bose, the local Panchayat son, who threatens to marry her if the loan isn't repaid within a year. Pradip is in immediate need of employment.
