Manufactured Luck (2022)

Manufactured Luck explores the relationship between a young Appalachian girl and her grandfather as they try to win a bike in a local grocery store sweepstakes. The film follows Ash and Jim, two introverted people from different generations, as they attempt to connect. Jim, a retired man who occasionally wins small prizes in contests, sees the sweepstakes as a chance to bond with Ash. Ash views her grandfather as distant and unfamiliar. However, when they see a bike in a supermarket display, Jim dedicates himself to winning it. Ultimately, they both discover that the connection they've forged in Jim's final days is more meaningful than any prize.
